Loving husband, father and grandfather
David A. Talley, age 57, of Laurie, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. He was born July 11, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of the late Alonzo, Jr. and Ruby I. (Hedges) Talley.
On September 23, 1978, at the Lakeland Baptist Church in Sunrise Beach, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife of 35 years, Rebecca (Bloss) Talley.
David enjoyed hunting, shooting trap, playing his guitar and riding his motorcycle. Most importantly, he loved his grandbabies and enjoyed spending time with them.
In addition to his wife, Becky, he is survived by his daughters, Amy Talley of Laurie and Stacy Lear and husband Jason of Camdenton; four grandchildren, Thomas, Becca, Christopher, Truman and one due to be born in January; sisters, Patricia Johnson and husband David of Versailles and Denise Dennis and husband Ron of Gravois Mills and many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Slavens.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, July 26th, at the West Lake Christian Church in Laurie. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Garber Memorial Estates Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon, Saturday, at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Children’s Miracle Network or the American Heart Association.
