  • The search for a 53-year-old woman reported missing by her family came to an end Tuesday afternoon when she was found in a densely wooded area naer Turtle Back Trail in Linn Creek.
Kathleen Rogers was conscious and able to talk with rescuers when she was located nearly 48 hours after she was last seen at her home in the Countryside Mobile Park off Route A.
The spot where Rogers was found required use of a four-wheeler to access. Rogers was dehydrated but was responding to medical personnel. Camden County Sheriff, Osage Beach Fire Department, and Osage Beach Ambulance took part in the rescue. She was taken to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.
Camden County Sheriff's Department deputies were contacted Sunday evening in reference to a female who had wondered off into the woods. Family members said Rogers left on foot and had not been seen since.
Deputies, members of the Osage Beach Search and Rescue team and K-9 units searched the area until 3 a.m. on July 21 before discontinuing the search for the night. The search continued on Monday morning and into Tuesday. Concerns about health issues grew as the hours stretched into days and Tuesday brought temperatures nearing the 100 degree mark.
Those involved with the efforts to locate Rogers said the rough terrain made the search tougher than expected. At one point, a helicopter was brought in to assist with the search by air with canines and riders on horses on the ground.
Relatives told officers that Rogers was a diabetic and needed oral medication.
Lake News will update this story as details emerge.
