  • Harley Edwards, 90, of Independence, MO passed away July 14, 2014 at Lee’s Summit Medical Center. Visitation will be at 12pm Thursday, July 17th at the Blue River Church of Christ (221 NE Woods Chapel Rd., Lee’s Summit, MO 64064) with funeral service starting at 1pm. Interment 11am Friday at Freedom Cemetery in Montreal, MO.
    Harley was born December 8, 1923 in Modine, MO to William & Olive Edwards. He was a Machinist for Allied Signal for 42 years. Harley was an honorary member of the American Legion Post 1000, a member of the I.A.M.A.W and an honorable member of the Order of Kentucky Colonels. He was also a member of the Blue River Church of Christ.
    Harley was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; four brothers & a sister. He is survived by a son, Joe D. Edwards; a daughter, Linda L. Smith (Johnie); sisters, Carol Ann Hampton & Eula Blakesley; four grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren.
