  • An investigation is underway in Miller County regarding a stabbing incident that occurred over the weekend. Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott confirmed that his department is investigating this incident.
21-year-old Nichole Donnelly was stabbed eight times at an apartment complex off of Route D in Kaiser according to her mother, Jenny Donnelly. Nichole was still in the Intensive Care Unit at Lake Regional as of Tuesday morning.
Jenny Donnelly said that she has been in contact with the detective on her daughter's case and is thankful for his communication, but would like to see charges be filed soon.
"It's a joke that this girl has not been charged with stabbing my daughter," Jenny Donnelly said.
There are two suspects in the case being held in correction facilities in Camden and Morgan Counties. The Lake Sun is withholding the names of the suspects until formal charges are field.
"Everything is not done yet," Abbott said. "A couple of our suspects are in custody in Camden County on other charges at this time."
Jenny Donnelly told the Lake Sun that according to her daughter, the woman that stabbed her is the girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend.
Around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, Nichole told Jenny that she was at a friend's apartment sitting on the porch. Her ex-boyfriend, who lives at the same complex, pulled up with his current girlfriend. According to the victim, she and her ex-boyfriend had a conversation which was going fine when the current girlfriend got out of the car and began yelling. How the argument started is unknown at this time. The victim went on to say that she was stabbed eight times by the woman with some sort of knife while her ex-boyfriend held her arms down.
According to Jenny, this situation has been building for more than a month. She went on to say that the female suspect even threatened her daughter on social media.
Abbott told a Lake Sun reporter that interviews are continuing in this case and that the investigation is ongoing.
