  • After a month of taking donations at the register, Save-A-Lot in Camdenton handed over a $268 check to the Sharing and Caring Foundation.
During the month of June, shoppers had the opportunity to donate $1 or more to Sharing and Caring Foundation at the register.
Every penny donated will be given back to local charities including Camden County Child Advocacy Council, Children's Learning Center, Citizens Against Domestic Violence, Helping Hands Homeless Shelter, LAMB House, Lighthouse Mission, Medical Missions for Christ, Pathway's Community Health Center and Share the Harvest Food Pantry.
This is the second time that Sharing and Caring has hosted such a fundraiser at a local business in the lake area. Bear Market hosted a similar fundraiser in January and raised more than $1,000 for local charities.
The foundation hopes to host more fundraisers like this one at local businesses in the future.
Donations can also be made through payroll deduction or visiting www.sharingandcaringfoundation.com. The organization can also be found on Facebook.
