  • With a $1,000 grant from the Community Foundation of the Lake, the Camdenton R-III School District Education Foundation was provided the opportunity to award their 13th Classroom IMPACT Grant in June.
This partnership between the Community Foundation of the Lake and Camdenton Education Foundation greatly supports the Education Foundation’s goal to advance academic excellence in Camdenton School District with innovative and creative ideas for teaching and learning.
This most recent grant funds Dogwood Elementary’s “Technology for all Learners” project which provides laptops and flash drives so technology is embedded in problem solving and learning experiences. It is expected to substantially improve instruction in the classroom as well as learning at home by allowing students to share project work with parents and extended family.
The Camdenton Education Foundation’s previous 12 Classroom IMPACT Grants have financed everything from metallophones and glockenspiels for Orff band instruction to SMART document cameras for visual learning enhancement. The grant program is a result of a payroll deduction process launched by the Foundation in August 2011 in which teachers and staff donate monthly to the Foundation.  The Foundation more than matches those donations to fund important education programs that fall outside the normal operating budget.  The 13 grant projects to date are impacting well over 1000 students across four campus facilities.
