  • A Nashville Singer/Songwriter charity concert was held at Mexicali Blues in June, raising close to $1,500 for Citizens Against Domestic Violence. The concert featured Buddy Jewell and Wynn Varble, and was hosted by Mexicali Blues. Owner Chad Kautz donated all of the ticket sales to CADV.
“The CADV board and staff are very grateful to the Kautz family and Mexicali Blues for their continued support of CADV,” CADV director Angie Fiene said. “Chad organized the concert and wanted 100 percent of the ticket sales to go to CADV so that we can continue to help serve the victims in the community. It was a great event and CADV would also like to thank everyone who attended.”
“This is the 5th Nashville Singer/Songwriter concert that I have hosted for a local charity. These songwriters are amazing to watch. The stories that are behind the songs that you hear on the radio is something that most people don't know. These artists tell you how they come up with these songs,” Kautz said. “I've always wanted to host one for the CADV because it is an organization that I deeply believe in. I've personally seen too many women that are victims to this senseless crime. Angie puts her heart and soul into the CADV, and I wanted to help her with her efforts of caring for those in need.”
CADV offers various services including a 24-hour hotline, support groups, crisis intervention, food, shelter, advocacy and support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.
