  • After two years in the planning, nine months searching for the best musicians and four months in rehearsal, it all comes down to a debut show June 25 by what can only be referred to as a lake area “supergroup.” The i-Berrys band is a nine piece Celtic, Irish, Pop, Funk, Country, Rock band from Osage Beach.
Band founding member Roger Hulett says the mix of music sounds complicated but really isn’t.
“You hear a song on the radio, and it either fits the i-Berrys or it doesn’t,” Hulett said. “The band definitely has a distinct personality that will be apparent in the first live set that some songs just wouldn’t fit.”
Hulett along with fellow founding members Shawn Campanini, and Kyle Miller came up with the concept for the band over two years ago. Through those discussions they decided to come up with not just a group of players playing songs. They wanted a “show”. A show that was vocally, musically and personality driven. Not a simple task when looking for musicians.
The i-Berrys are comprised of Hulett, Campanini, Miller and also Melissa Carroll, Missy McPheeters, Monty Laffoon, Darin Puppel, Daniel Gibbs, and Jake Hanselman.
Campanini, the band’s musical director, says “many of these band members have been playing music for over 20 years. They were the perfect mix of talent, and personality that we were looking for.”
Hulett goes on to say, “we don’t really care for the tag supergroup that has been thrown around about us, but there is no disputing that this mix of players is the best of the best. We are blessed to have all of them in this one group.”
Kyle Miller said, “Another cool thing about the music this group plays, is the different instrumentation that the audience will see on stage. These are instruments you don’t normally see from a “Missouri” based band. We have Irish Bodhran drums, full percussion island, pedal steel, fiddles, mandolins, melodicas, tin whistles and even a few surprises. And of course the standard guitars, bass, piano and drums.”
The i-Berrys were formed as a major event band based out of Osage Beach. This is not your typical every Friday and Saturday night group.
The i-Berrys band will make their live debut on June 25th at the Sports Pub 2107 in Lake Ozark from 8pm-11pm. This debut is a media showcase and debut for various club owners from Springfield to Kansas City and St Louis.
The event is also open to the public as well. Following the debut show, the i-Berrys Band will announce more show dates as they become solidified.
