  • You will be in awe of the wide selection — from the variety of ways to make a pizza to the number of craft beers on tap. PaPPo's Pizzeria & Pub opened a few weeks ago in Osage Beach, owned by Chris and Melissa Galloway and their 30-year-old son, Warren. Chris' 3-year-old granddaughter, Moriah, coined the name when she start calling him "PaPPo." So when the first PaPPo's opened in Springfield, Mo. a year and a half ago by daughter, Briana...the name PaPPo's Pizzeria was the obvious choice as PaPPo's in Italian means to prepare, eat...or gobble up.
"The idea for our food came from desiring to make quality food with natural ingredients like they do in Italy with a fanatical Artisan passion for excellence in handcrafted pizza," Chris said. "My mother Joan, who was taught by her mother Babe and her Aunt Rita, taught me sauces, meatballs, and fresh Italian style cooking, while my father, Richard taught me how to bake bread."
Italian bread is made from scratch daily for sandwiches and appetizers.
Chris says the quality of their food makes them stand out. Ingredients are purchased locally whenever possible. The restaurant makes a special recipe pizza dough daily with the best unbleached and un-bromated hard red wheat flour. PaPPo's uses fresh basil, cilantro and spinach, crushed Roma tomatoes from California, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and meats sourced locally from Tom's Slaughterhouse in Camdenton who raises grass-fed Angus cattle without antibiotics which they use to make their own sausage. PaPPo's cooks the pizza on a stone hearth on one of three crusts — Hand Tossed, St. Louis Thin and Gluten-free. There are seven different sauces including the house-made marinara. There are 13 different kinds of cheese, fresh vegetables.
Melissa makes her famous salsa which is used on the crust in the Mexican Pizza. "PaPPo" Chris credits son and co-owner, Warren Galloway, with the idea of having largest selection of craft beers at the Lake and also adding a youthful management style. At PaPPo's, one will find 32 craft beers on tap served in a fun environment. The selection includes the Lake's Horseshoe Bend Brewing Co. and Springfield's Mother's as well as others from Maine to California.
Live music is most nights provided by daughter and recording artist, Hannah Galloway, the PaPPo's house musician as well as other local and national musicians. PaPPo's is a place you might find in Chicago or New York right here in Osage Beach. Now there is nothing left for you to do except come in and experience the new PaPPo's family place and try some of their amazing handcrafted pizzas and craft beers on tap!
