  • Appreciation event looking for boats to carry troops and their families

  • The 15th Troop Appreciation Day is looking for boats to take out 200 of America's heroes on Saturday for a day of fun and relaxation.
    This event honoring men and women in our armed services includes a free lunch from Oasis Restaurant, free tours of Bridal Cave and a three hour boat ride as well as swimming and a kids fishing contest and prizes and gifts.

    This event honoring men and women in our armed services includes a free lunch from Oasis Restaurant, free tours of Bridal Cave and a three hour boat ride as well as swimming and a kids fishing contest and prizes and gifts.  Special guests State Senator Dan Brown and Retired General John Seward will be on hand as well.
    The lunch is from 12-1 p.m. with the boats scheduled to leave Pier 31 in Camdenton at 1:30 and return around 4:30 for the fishing contest for kids under 14 years of age sponsored by Scott's Concrete. Presents and prizes will be given out around 5:30.
    The event is open to the first 200 troops and their families and is done to recognize that freedom is not free.
    Some free rooms and special rate rooms are offered at Pier 31 and Tan-Tar-A Resort.
    The event will be held at Pier 31 Marina & The Oasis Restaurant at Pier 31, 4514 Pier 31 Rd., Camdenton.
