Jess Caine, formerly of Eldon, graduated from A.T. Still University’s Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri, on May 17.
Caine, the daughter of Mike and Karle Caine and the sister of Amanda Caine all of Eldon, received the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.) and was one of 154 new physicians graduating from ATSU-KCOM at its annual May commencement. ASTU-KCOM is the founding school of osteopathy, established in 1892 by Andrew Taylor Still, D.O.
At an awards ceremony prior to commencement, Caine was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society (GHHS), which is comprised of individuals who have been recognized for practicing patient-centered medical care by modeling the qualities of integrity, excellence, compassion, altruism, respect and empathy.
Dr. Caine will begin a general surgery residency in June at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville. Dr. Caine attended Missouri State University in Springfield before enrolling at ATSU-KCOM.
