What it is
Susann Huff hand-made this special commemorative Relay for Life quilt which includes many of the different types of cancer that the event helps to fight against. Quilting was done by Sue Purdon.
Huff is raffling off the queen size quilt as a fundraiser for her Hillbilly Heros Relay Team which takes part in the Relay for Life of Morgan County. The quilt will be awarded in a drawing this summer. Tickets are six for $5. Call Huff for tickets and more information at 573-216-9358.
About Relay for Life
This year's Relay for Life of Morgan County will be held from 6 p.m. Friday, June 20-6 a.m. Saturday, June 21 at the Laurie Fairgrounds. Monies raised by participating teams are pooled at the annual Relay event in individual communities. More funding for the fight against cancer is then raised during the overnight night in which team members take turns walking or running around a path or track to honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost. Because cancer never sleeps, each team is asked to have at least one participant on the track at all times. The fundraiser supports cancer research, education and local programs for cancer patients.
