  • Camdenton, Mo. – The annual Laker Invitational at Old Kinderhook went off without a hitch on Wednesday, unless you count the gusts of wind throughout the day.
Wearing layers of clothes early on, the temperature slowly raised for the golfers on Wednesday, eventually warming up enough for a comfortable outing.
With winds playing with the balls, the golfers all had to adjust their shots to compensate, just another part of the game.
Drawing in 28 schools to compete, the Laker boys finished strong, taking eighth place as a team with a score of 332.
Braden Demark finished sixth overall in the individuals with a score of 76, while Michale Pfitzer followed with an 82. Michael Hake finished third amongst the Lakers with an 84, while Seth Crockett shot a 90 and Mason Bennett shot a 91.
Rock Bridge emerged the victor in the teams, with a score of 317, and Matt Echelmeier and Jack Knoesel leading the team with  scores of 79 and 76, respectively. Knoesel took fifth in the individuals.
Rockhurst finished second with a 317, with Kevin Lane leading the team with a 75, good enough for a third-place finish.
In third, Lee's Summit North took the bronze, with two of their players, Keaton Black and Ian Mathewson, shooting 74 and 76 for a team total of 322. Black finished second overall, Mathewson took fourth individually. Logan-Rogersville finished fourth, while Olathe took fifth with a 328.
Joplin may have finished sixth, but the Eagles' Nick Yuhas finished first with a 68 for the gold.
