  • Camdenton, Mo. – For the third year in a row, the annual conference matchup between the Camdenton Lady Lakers (7-2-1, 2-1 in Ozark Conference) and the Waynesville Lady Tigers (5-5, 3-2 in Conference) was decided by one point.
Coming off of a close loss to Glendale the Friday before, in which the Lady Lakers lost in PK's, 1-0, it just seemed fitting that a hard-fought match between two talented Ozark Conference soccer teams would be decided by PK's.
It proved to be a very intense game, with the fans and players alike getting in on the rivalry.
But the show belonged to two players in regulation: Waynesville junior Camia Blash and Camdenton senior Whitney Snow.
Blash scored goals at the 24 minute mark and six minutes into the second half. Snow answered after each of those goals, with one at the 29 minute mark and the other with 13 minutes left in regulation, tying the game up 2-2 as Camdenton managed to keep battling back.
The Lady Lakers threatened to win in regulation, but Waynesville goalkeeper D'Anna Hasik made a save with three minutes to go to force the game into overtime.
In the end, the game went to PK's, where Camdenton's goalkeeper, Hannah Lowther, proved to be a tough matchup for the Lady Tigers. The Lady Lakers made their winning goal on the second kick of the shootout. The Tigers missed both and fell 3-2 to Camdenton.
