  • Easter weekend is almost here and children all over the lake area are gearing up to go hunting... for Easter Eggs to be exact! Many lake area communities are hosting their own hunts over the weekend. The Lake Sun has compiled a list of local hunts so that residents can make sure they visit the event closest to them.
    The City of Linn Creek will be hosting their annual Easter Egg Hunt at the Linn Creek Memorial Park at 2 p.m. April 19 for children up to the age of 12. For more information call 573-346-6200
    The Versailles Area Chamber of Commerce annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 11 a.m. April 19 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
    The Easter Bunny will be at Stone Crest Book & Toy Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 19. Get get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny.
    The third annual Adult Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Dogwood Hills Golf Resort April 19. Find the golden egg for $1,000 cash. More than 400 filled eggs will be hidden around the course. Registration is at 3 p.m. with the egg hunt beginning at 4:30 p.m. Early bird tickets are $12 in advance and available at the Dogwood Hills Golf Shop, all First National Bank locations, and all Paul’s Supermarket locations. Tickets are $15 at the door. Must be 21 years and older. A $10 raffle for a golf membership, and food will be available. A portion of the proceeds go to Citizens Against Domestic Violence.
    Thousands of Easter eggs will be hidden around the Laurie Fairgrounds for the annual Easter Egg Hunt in the Park. The hunt starts at 2 p.m. April 20. The hunt will be divided into four age groups. Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be at 1:30 p.m. Free event. Go to www.cityoflaurie.com for more information.
