  • Construction of a new, architecturally compatible Ameren Shoreline Management office near Willmore Lodge is expected to begin in May.
The Lake Ozark Board of Aldermen recently approved rezoning of about 10 acres on the south side of Willmore Lane and Willmore Lodge from R-3 Multi-Family Dwelling to C-2 General Commercial to allow for construction of a 5,022-square-foot office to house Ameren’s Shoreline Management operations.
Shoreline Management Supervisor Jeff Green said the building, which will mirror the rustic Willmore Lodge, should be completed by the end of the year and will include lake access. Ameren also owns Willmore Lodge.
This will be the third home for the Shoreline Manage Office in the last couple of years. Ameren’s building on the lake side of Bagnell
Dam Blvd. lost its roof to a severe storm last June, forcing the office to move to temporary quarters in the Cliffside Center in
    Lake Ozark.
The new office will be on the left side of Willmore Lodge and will face Willmore Lane. By water, access to the facility would be from the first cove west of Bagnell Dam.
The exterior will be log siding with an earth tone metal roof, featuring rock accents with a modern rustic interior. It has an open office plan for a staff of 10
The Shoreline Management Office was at the location near Bagnell Dam for about 8½ years.
