Osage Wood Bat Tourney

Kaiser, Mo. – The annual Osage Wood Bat Tourney saw the Indians bounce back after their 4-7 loss to Russellville last week.

Entering the tourney with a 1-4 record, the Indians faced off against Richland on Friday night, battling back to win 6-5.

They followed it up with a 10-2 loss to Dixon the next morning, but rallied back to take down Versailles with a 14-4 win, advancing the Indians to 3-5 this season.

Versailles fared less favorably at the tourney, falling in all three of their match-ups.

Their first game of the tournament resulted in a hard-fought 8-7 loss to Dixon, and was followed by a 5-1 loss to Richland the next day. The final game of the day was the 10-run loss to Osage.

Finishing in first place was Dixon, with Osage taking second. Richland claimed third, with Versailles rounding out in fourth.

On Friday evening, the Laker boys competed in the Hillcrest Invitational. Medals were earned by Luke Burris 5th place pole vault (12-0), Jacob Wise 4th place high jump (5-10), Denver Hansen 3rd place 110m(15.37) hurdles and 4th place 300m hurdles (41.80). The 4x400 meter relay team of Ryan Elliott, Denver Hansen, Jacob Klein and Kemper Virtue finished in 7th running a season best 3:36.55.
