  • The population of Camden County is continuing to slightly decline, according to new data recently released for counties by the U.S. Census Bureau.
    The county has seven fewer residents in July 2013 compared to July 2012, according to the new estimates provided by the census.
    The latest figures show that the county’s estimated population in 2013 was 43,862 compared to the 2012 estimate of 43,869.
    Of all of the tri-county area which includes Camden, Miller and Morgan counties, Miller county saw the biggest increase in population from 2010 to 2013.
    The 2013 estimated population of Miller County was 25,092 compared to 24,810 in 2012. The county’s population was estimated at 24,748 as of April 1, 2010. That is an increase of 1.4 percent from April 1, 2010 to July 1, 2013.
    Morgan County also saw an increase in population last year compared to 2012 but a decrease compared to 2010. According to the census bureau, Morgan County’s 2013 estimated population was 20,265 compared to the estimated population of 20,153 in 2012. The base estimate as of April 1, 2010 was 20,565.
    The difference in population in Morgan County from April 1, 2010 to July 1, 2013, was a 1.5 percent decrease.
