  • The Oak Ridge Intermediate sixth grade classes of Mindy Rosenbach and Kristi Lawson, created a museum of Egyptian antiquities. In preparation for creating their museum, students studied Egyptian writing, daily life, forms of government, and the building of Egypt’s monuments.
The students were allowed to choose the antiquity that they were most impressed by during their unit of study. The antiquities consisted of pyramids, clothing, farming, homes, pharaohs, queens, gods and goddesses, symbols, tombs, mummification, maps, scrolls, landforms, weapons and many more creations.
On March 27, students acted as tour guides of the museum for their families.  As guides, the students were able to share what they learned about Egypt and make connections to our world today.  It was a great learning experience for students and their families.
