Just a week away from the April 8 election, voters can now vote by absentee ballots. If a voter will be absent, out of town or unable to make it to the polls on April 8, they can request an absentee ballot be mailed to them or they can stop by the Camden County Courthouse to pick one up at any time. The last day to vote by an absentee ballot is April 7 at 5 p.m.
Camden County has 29,412 active voters that are registered to vote in the upcoming April election, but history shows that an average of 10 percent of registered voters will show up to the polls.
According to County Clerk officials, April elections do not usually see a very high voter turnout.
So far, Camden County has handed out 252 absentee ballots which were available on Feb. 25. In the last April election, 520 Camden County voters placed their vote with an absentee ballot.
Voters are encouraged to let their voice be heard by voting at a polling location on April 8 or voting absentee.
