  • On Thursday, March 27, the Substance Abuse and Addictions Committee, a subcommittee of Education & Training of the Camden County Child Advocacy Council, is hosting a forum on cocaine, meth and heroin.
    The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at the Mid County Fire Department on North Highway 5 in Camdenton.
    This is a night to come and listen to the stories of three individuals that have once been a user, have overcome their addictions and who are recovering today.  You’ll hear from first responder Mid County Fire Chief Scott Frandsen and you’ll hear additional facts and information from a Camden County Sheriff’s Office representative. The event will be emceed by Jason Whittle who has a vested interested in the youth of the lake area.
    This event is open to anyone in the community that would like to learn more about the effects and warning signs of these types of drugs.  Refreshments will be served.
