Served in the Women's Army Corp
Beatrice “Bea” Marie Dannan died Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the age of 92. The first child of Nelson and Lila Crofoot Brooks, Bea was born in Arlington, Iowa, on June 4, 1921. She was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Women’s Army Corp and married Donald Dannan in Iowa on December 31, 1953.
Bea resided in Missouri from 1955 until her death, working for many years at a major department store in St. Louis. She enjoyed golf, winning many trophies, and continued playing into her 80’s.

She was also the greeter at the 10 a.m. Sunday service, together with Gordon Perry, with whom she co-founded the Beatrice Dannan and Gordon Perry Servant’s Heart Award. This is presented annually to members of the church who go “above and beyond” to serve the Lord and the community at large. Bea always had a smile and treated all she met with love and respect. She enjoyed dining out with her “golfing ladies”, taking part in Camden County Museum meetings, helping with Museum Theatre productions and dances, and eating at the Elk’s Lodge.
