Worked for more than 30 years as a civil servant
Pamala Verie List passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014 at her home in Mount Airy, Maryland. She was 57 years old.
Born September 23, 1956 in Austin, Texas, she was the eldest child of Othella Yates Reed and the late Donald Paul Smith.
She graduated as valedictorian of Climax Springs High School in Camden County, Missouri in 1975 and later graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland.
She was a career civil servant, spending more than thirty years in the federal government including the Department of Defense and the Food and Drug Administration. When she passed, she was the Director of Budget Formulation, Control, and Policy Staff at the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
She is survived by her mother, Othella Reed; her husband, Leonard List; her siblings, Annalois Pittman, Ami Grace Smalley, Paul Smith, and Pattie Smith; her son, John Wesley Hamilton; her step children, Brian Douglas List and Kymm Nesheim; her grand-children, Cassidy and Myles Nesheim; and a large group of extended family and friends.
A private memorial will be held on March 8, in Maryland, followed by a funeral service and burial on March 15, in Camden County, Missouri.
