  • The Christmas for Kids committee and Ozark Coast Kiwanis recently donated $3,900 to the Lake Regional Health System Trim Kids program.
Trim Kids is a nine-week program on weight loss and healthy living, lead by trained health care professionals. The program includes nutrition, exercise and behavior modification components, such as self-esteem building and stress management. Lake Regional hosts the program in the spring and fall each year.
“Trim Kids is an important program in helping us address childhood obesity in our community,” said Terri Hall, Lake Regional Fund Development director. “This donation will help Lake Regional offer the Trim Kids program, which already has provided life-changing services to many area children.”
The Christmas for Kids committee and Ozark Coast Kiwanis raised the funds through donations during their annual December event held at the Country Club Hotel & Spa. Proceeds from the event also benefited the Lake Area CADV, Wonderland Camp, Hope House, Big Brothers Big Sisters and the YMCA.
