Larry K. Eye, age 73, of Gravois Mills, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at his home. He was born March 15, 1940, in Iowa City, Iowa, a son of Loyle and Pauline Koranda Eye.

On January 6, 1962, in Lost Nation, Iowa, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife, Mary Jo (Nodurft) Eye.

In addition to his wife, Mary Jo, he is survived by his sons, Michael Eye and Mark Eye and wife Sherry, both of Columbia, Missouri; his daughter, Katherine Vetsch and husband Kevin of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Amber Goss of Columbia, Missouri, Joseph Vetsch of Kansas City, Missouri, Marie Straughan of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Christopher Vetsch of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one great-granddaughter, Haylee Scruggs; his mother, Pauline Eppright of Laurie, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Loyle Eye.

Larry was a proud, retired United States Air Force veteran. He was a beloved son, husband, father and grandfather – a selfless soul, always making sure everyone was comfortable and happy. He loved his family and his retirement home at the Lake of the Ozarks. He enjoyed watching the boats go by, looking out for his neighbors, and cooking for family get-togethers, especially the annual Thanksgiving dinner.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 21st, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with Father Patrick Dolan officiating. Graveside services and inurnment with full military honors will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Patrick Catholic Church.
