The Camden County courthouse has changed its policy on notifying the public on courthouse closings due to inclement weather. The county now has two different messages it will send out depending on the severity of the weather.
"We experienced some confusion during the last snow storm and would like to clarify our operations. When the courthouse is closed, the justice center may or may not be closed. When we give closing information, we will specify, as we did during the last storm, whether or not the justice center is closed along with the courthouse," officials said. "The closing information will come in one of two formats. The first will be, 'The Camden County Courthouse and Justice Center are closed today due to weather.' The second will be, 'The Camden County Courthouse is closed today due to weather. The Justice Center will be open, and if you have a court date, you need to report.'
According to courthouse officials some individuals did not show up for their court date during the last winter storm.
