City of Osage Beach officials are asking the public’s help in stopping a bill in the Missouri legislature they feel could remove the city’s ability to regulate cell towers.

Officials report they are pleased with a meeting Jan. 13 with Reps. Rocky Miller, David Wood and Diane Franklin discussing numerous bills currently in the General Assembly regarding authority of cities to regulate cell tower locations.

The city’s concern — as well as the concern of other communities — is that a city's authority to manage cell tower locations within the city limits will be removed. Osage Beach stated its concerns in a letter dated Nov. 25 to Representative Miller.

The letter is available for download at www.osagebeach.org.

A spokesman for the city said the city appreciates the representatives taking the time to begin much needed conversations to overcome this dilemma. The city encourages its citizens and visitors to contact the area lawmakers regarding this important issue.
