Courtney Foulk, a 2013 Camdenton High School graduate, was recently honored as a Vanderbilt University Peabody Scholar. Each year the University selects a total of 15 first-year undergraduates for this competitive four-year program on the basis of engagement in the Vanderbilt University community, academic achievement, and quality of application essay.
During her tenure in the Peabody Scholars program, Foulk will enroll in specialized seminar coursework, collaborate with a faculty member in a discipline-specific research project, and participate in various university-wide speakers' events and cultural programs on campus. Following her second year in the program, she will receive a summer stipend to support her pursuit of research, overseas study, and/or community service. Foulk plans to use her financial award in an overseas service project related to her academic program.
