  • John Walter Smith, Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
    Beloved husband of Carol Smith (nee Ernst); dearest father of Tim (Elaine) and Lance (Karen) Smith; loving grandfather of Ashlie, Brittany, Zachary and Emma Smith; great grandfather of Kyler Lee Smith; brother of the late James Smith; brother-in-law of Harold (Sherrie) Ernst, Leora (Terry) Horan, Msgr. Norb Ernst and Ray (B.J.) Ernst; uncle of Belinda Walker, Donna Dunnavant, Diana Fogle and Jimmy Smith; our dear cousin and friend.
    Proud member of Iron Workers Local 396.  John's main hobbies included bowling at Eagle Lanes of Osage Beach, fishing off his dock that he configured and built himself and boating with all his many friends on his 38ft Sea Ray, Beach Buoy. He loved the peaceful life of Lake Ozark, including his many neighbors, especially on Sunset Drive.  He and Carol enjoyed many winters in Key Colony Beach, FL with their winter friends.
    SERVICES:  Visitation at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Thursday, January 16 from 5-8pm
    Funeral Mass at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church Friday, January 17 at 9:15am.  Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.  Masses preferred or memorials to American Cancer Society or Missouri Department of Conservation appreciated. There will also be a Memorial Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church (Osage Beach) on Saturday, January 25 at 11am.
