  • With a down national economy hampering the lake-area economy for the last few years, many wondered if the region would ever see pre-recession economic numbers. Then, in 2013, came good news after good news. Economic development began fueling optimism with the openings of new large-scale economic fixtures: Lakeview Pointe in Osage Beach, Woods Supermarket in Sunrise Beach, Eagles' Landing businesses. But that wasn't all the good news — several high-profile economic developments were unveiled in 2013 — Harbour Pointe near the Grand Glaize Bridge, the Williams development in Lake Ozark, the Lodge at Old Kinderhook near Camdenton and a regional vision for economic/recreational opportunities in Eldon. Real estate experienced the strongest year since the start of the recession and sales tax revenues held steady and increased.
