  • On Dec. 21 at 2:21 p.m., a silver 2005 Ford Focus was stopped by an Osage Beach Officer in the 4200 block of the Osage Beach Parkway.  The officer’s vehicle is equipped with an L.P.R. (License Plate Reader System) and alerted him of the possible stolen vehicle.
The L.P.R. is a camera system located on the patrol car that checks license plates of surrounding vehicles against a National data base for stolen or other criminal affiliation.
The driver was identified as Scott Duane Peters, age 55, of Tebbetts, Mo.  Peters was placed under arrest on an existing felony stealing warrant out of Crawford County.  The bond for that charge was $10,000.
Peters' driving privilege through Missouri was also suspended due to his failure to pay child support.  Peters was transported to the Camden County Jail where he was held on the Crawford County warrant and further charged with Driving While Suspended and Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, bond $1,000 cash.
