A recital featuring Marianne Parker, the principal pianist for the Chicago Civic Orchestra, will be presented at Community Christian Church on Friday, Dec. 20 at 6 p.m. She will be performing with her former piano teacher, Judy Wingate and Wingate's current piano students.
Parker is a 2002 Camdenton graduate. She holds her Bachelor's degree from Missouri State University and her Master's degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the University of Tennessee. She also studied at the Bosendorfer Piano Institute in Vienna, Austria.
Selected students from Wingate's Studio will have the privilege of participating in a Master Class conducted by Parker from 5 to 6 p.m. During the recital, Parker will be performing selections by Beethoven, Barber and Bach. The recital will also include several Christmas Carols by Parker, Wingate and her students.
Students performing will be Nick and Reagan Faiferlick, Micah Hill, Saoirse and Isabelle Lonergan, Taylor Petska, Benjamin Poest, Carson and Lauren Risner.
This event is open to the public and free of charge.
Marianne is the daughter of Mike and Millicent Parker of Camdenton.
