  • Two men are behind bars after Osage Beach officers arrested them for allegedly conducting a drug deal in the parking lot of a local business.
Officers responded to the business, located in the 5300 black of Osage Beach Parkway late Saturday night, after the owner called police about what he descrived as a drug deal in his parking lot.
Two suspects — later identified as Michael Fields, 32, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Elias Humphrey, 22, of Sunrise Beach — fled into a nearby wooded area when the owner informed them that he called police.
When police arrived, they discovered a small amount of methamphetamine on Fields he had purportedly received from Humphrey. Officers found several items of drug paraphernalia and additional methamphetamine discarded where Humphrey was found.
Fields was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and is being held at the Camden County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond.
Humphrey was charged with Possession with the Intent to Sell and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and is being held at the Camden County Jail without bond.
