  • Filings for municipal and other taxing entities will get underway in two weeks for the April 8, 2014 elections.
    Terms will expire for a multitude of municipal, school and governing boards in the lake area. Filings for candidates who are interested in running will get underway on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Candidates are required to register to run with the designated clerk of the district, city or administrative office of the entity where they are running for office.
    Filings will close at 5 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2014.
    Among the seats up for election will be Osage Beach Mayor Penny Lyons, Ward 1 Kevin Rucker, Ward 2 Michelle Myler (filling an unexpired term), Ward 3 Fred Catcott and Treasurer John Berry.
    In Lake Ozark, Ward I Don Langley, Ward II Larry Buschjost and Ward III Jeff Van Donsel's terms will expire.
    School of the Osage positions expiring are Rod Miller, Mary Whitman and Steven Hermann.
    Camdenton school board seats held by John Beckett, Jackie Schulte and Selynn Barbour will be up for election.
    In Camdenton, registered voters will elect three aldermen, one from each ward in the city.
    Eldon, Climax Springs, Laurie and Sunrise Beach as well as Macks Creek and Eldon school districts will hold elections as will some fire, ambulance and other taxing entities.
    Paperwork to file is available at any of the city halls, school fire or other entity where there will be an election.
