Owned Chet’s Restaurant for 20 years
Mary Elizabeth Rowan, age 80, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri.
Mary was born January 31, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Michael and Elizabeth (Brennan) Higgins.
Mary was united in marriage to James Rowan.
Mary and James owned and operated Chet’s Restaurant in Osage Beach for 20 years. She was a volunteer at the Elementary School in Osage Beach and in her spare time, Mary enjoyed gardening, swimming, boating, aerobics and cooking.
Mary is survived by two children; Gay Ann Christy of Lake Ozark, Missouri and Eugene Rowan and wife Linda of Charleston, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Desiree Rowan of New Orleans, Louisiana, Jessica Gladney and husband Michael, of Charleston, South Carolina, James Rowan, of Charleston, South Carolina, Brandy Hutzler and husband Lance, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Brooke Christy, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, as well as several other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband James; one son, James J. Rowan II; her parents, Michael and Elizabeth Higgins; and two brothers, Eugene and Michael Higgins.
Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to services at the church.
Interment will be at Dale Blair Memorial Cemetery in Camdenton, Missouri.
