  • An Eldon man is behind bars after being caught red-handed in a commercial burglary.
    Early Thanksgiving morning, at 4:22 a.m., Eldon Police Officers responded to an alarm sounding at Eldon Drug on Maple Street.
    Upon arrival, officers found damage to the rear entrance. Officers then secured the outside of the business.
    As officers were checking inside the building, a 23-year-old Eldon man was located hiding in the basement.
    The subject had a large amount of prescription drugs in his possession. The subject was arrested and transported to the Miller County Jail.
    The subjects name is being withheld pending warrants for burglary, stealing, and property damage.
    The Eldon Police were assisted by Miller County Sheriff’s Department Deputies and the Miller County K-9 unit.
