Stone Crest Mall will be decking its halls with holiday activities in the weeks leading up to Christmas, including a kids’ Christmas charity, pictures with Santa, and a winter market.
Between now and Dec. 6, the Lake Ozark Rotary Club will be hosting its annual Candyland event at the mall. This event allows shoppers to stop in and select a “cane” from a Christmas tree. That cane contains a list of Christmas wishes and needs from a child in the lake area. The shopper can then purchase gifts for that child and return them either to the Tri-County YMCA or Candyland headquarters at the mall.
Founded in 1984, Candyland has served more than 10,000 children throughout its history.
In another annual tradition, the mall will host Santa Claus for pictures with kids and pets on Saturday afternoons, beginning the Saturday after Thanksgiving and going until the Saturday before Christmas. The photos with Santa will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the Stonecrest Book & Toy Store. Saturday, Dec. 7 will be Pet Photo Day, where families can bring their furry friends to pose. And in a new holiday event, the Osage Beach Farmers Market will be bringing local farmers and artisans for a special Winter Market. The market will run on the first three Saturdays of December, from noon to 4 p.m. — the same time as the Santa photos. Locavore favorites such as farm fresh eggs, grass-fed beef and bison, whole turkeys, baked goods, and raw milk will be featured along with a wide range of local, hand-made products. Many of the foods and crafted goods will have a holiday theme, and there will even be home-made pet treats for pooches who need a reward after behaving in their Santa photo.
With opportunities for charity, fresh food, and a little fun there are a host of ways to have a unique holiday experience at Stone Crest Mall.
