  • Opal Mae (Forney) Thiemann, age 91, of Versailles, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles.  She was born March 21, 1922, near Pawnee City, Nebraska, the second child of Adrian Alonzo and Ina Mae (Humrich) Forney.
     On September 15, 1943, Opal was united in marriage to Edgar H. Thiemann who preceded her in death on September 22, 2011.
     In 1952, Ed and Opal moved south of Camdenton, Missouri, where they owned the E-O Ranch.  Opal was a homemaker and was active with her children in 4-H.  She was also a long-time member of the South Camdenton Extension Club.  In 1986, Ed and Opal moved to a farm near Barnett, Missouri where Opal enjoyed assisting Ed in his ceramic tile business.  In 1997, they moved north of Versailles.  Opal was a member of the Glensted United Methodist Church. 
    Opal is survived by one daughter, Sharon Hunter and husband Robert of Linn Creek, Missouri; two sons, Dean Thiemann and wife Valonia of Versailles, Missouri and Wayne Thiemann and wife Jackie of Fulton, Missouri; one son-in-law, James McGuire of Camdenton, Missouri; sister-in-law, Lila Forney of Wasco, California; brother-in-law, Ross Thiemann and wife Mary Alice of Pawnee City, Nebraska; eleven grandchildren, Robbie Hunter and wife Lisa of Bonne Terre, Missouri, Shannon Hunter and wife Pam of Yorkville, Illinois, Aaron Hunter and wife Julie of Hope Mills, North Carolina, Travis Thiemann and wife Kristin of Rogersville, Missouri, Tara Thiemann and husband Kale Braden of Sacramento, California, Marty McGuire of Camdenton, Missouri, Shane Shadrick and wife Pam of Camdenton, Missouri, Curtis Hunter and wife Melissa of Macks Creek, Missouri, Abbie Keimig and husband Karl of Gardner, Kansas, Richard Thiemann and wife Jodi of Columbia, Missouri and Heather Croy and husband Brad of Rocheport, Missouri; nineteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husband, Opal was preceded in death by a daughter, Pam McGuire, a sister, Ruth Marshall, a brother, Dean Forney and a granddaughter-in-law, Ursula McGuire.
     Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 23rd, at the Glensted United Methodist Church, on Highway Z north of Versailles, with Reverend Dan Adkison officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at the church.  Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Glensted Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to Glensted United Methodist Church, Alzheimer’s Association or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
