  • Four representatives from the Lake of the Ozarks will be traveling to York, Penn., Thursday to give their final presentation to the Can-Am Police and Fire games committee.
The lake is among four finalists for hosting the games in 2018.
Lagina Fitzpatrick from Tri-County Lodging, Chief Jeffrey Dorhauer with Osage Beach Fire, Chief Todd Davis with Osage Beach Police and Sgt. John Stephens with the Camden County Sheriff’s Department will make the final presentation Friday morning.  If awarded the bid and the 2018 Games, the Lake of the Ozarks will host 1,500 participants plus their families for a week to participate in the games.
Members of a local committee from local Police, Fire, Convention and Visitors Bureau and Tri-County Lodging have been working on this bid process for nearly a year.  Lake of the Ozarks was chosen to be in the final five destinations and hosted a site visit with three members of the Can-Am Board in September of this year.
The group will find out Friday evening if their bid was accepted over the others making the final five.  The other locations in the running are:
    •Ames, Iowa
    •Saint John, New Brunswick
    •Niagara, Ontario
    •Hampton Roads, Virginia
