 Missouri's firearms deer hunting season starts statewide November: Nov.16 and will run until November 26. Hunters will have the opportunity to harvest deer with a rifle while helping to maintain a healthy deer population.

The Novinger Town & Country 4-H Club is having a Deer Hunter's Breakfast on Saturday November 16th from 4a to 11a. All you can eat breakfast for $6 per person.

 Hunters Lunch with Church Lady Pies will be from 10:30am to 2pm at The Buddy Bank at 508 S Baltimore . Everyone Welcome. Chili, Pie & Drinks - $10. Sponsored by The Food Bank Advisory Council for Adair County .

The Student Activities Board presents singer/songwriter Phillip Phillips at 9 p.m. in Pershing Arena. One of last year’s biggest singles, the quadruple-platinum “Home” announced Phillip Phillips as a singer/guitarist of both rare authenticity and massive pop appeal. Centering on the American Idol season 11 winner’s rich, raspy vocals and masterful guitar skills, “Home” served as the lead single from The World from the Side of the Moon—a platinum-selling album that shot to #4 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart upon its Nov. 2012 release. Phillips’s widely acclaimed debut also features the platinum single “Gone, Gone, Gone.” Doors will open at 8:30 PM.   Tickets may be purchased at the SAB office or on the SAB website. All purchasers will be charged $15 for tickets bought on the day of the show.

Sunday,  November  17th

  New York Best Selling Author Jan Brett will be at the Truman State University Bookstore in the Student Union Building Lower Level from 10am to 12pm. Brett is the author of The Hat, Gingerbread Baby, Hedgies’s Surprise and multiple other captivating children’s stories. Brett will be doing a book signing and special presentation in celebration of her new book: Cinders:A Chicken Cinderella.
