2014-jaugar-f-typeLike him or not, Jay Leno knows cars. On ďJay Lenoís Garage,Ē his web TV show, Jay expresses his passion for everything automotive while showing off his far-reaching and marvelous collection of classic cars.

On the subject of Jaguarís 2014 F-Type, the comedian succinctly summed up: “It’s like a Mustang that went to college at Oxford.”

Forget your old impressions of Jaguar: overpriced, fancy cars owned by people who donít know what tuningís about. Plus low resale value. The F-type will turn that thinking on its head.

Indian multinational automotive manufacturing company Tata Motors acquired the high class British Jaguar in 2008 from Ford Motor Co., but the worldís been waiting for a better Jaguar for almost 40 years. The new F-Type makes Jaguar sexy again.

The successor to the E-Type, the car Enzo Ferrari described as the “most beautiful ever made,Ē has a wild streak. Itíís powerful, dynamic, muscular and modern.

Itís Jagís first sports car in decades though it boasts four seats, rear-wheel-drive, a soft-top and no manual transmission.

Itís chunkier, too, with a wide-mouthed grilled and thin rear lights. Inside itís roomy and posh with a bit more than you might expect from a luxury car such as copper accents rather than chrome and air vents that pop up when turned on. Push the key fob to unlock, and the door handle slides open to invite you inside.

And, then thereís the sound. The F-Type roars to life like an American muscle car yet handles like a panther.

Three supercharged engines are available, a pair of 3-litre V6s with 340 or 380bhp and a 5-liter V8 with 495bhp. The V6 hits zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds. Long live the F-Type!
