An Osage Beach man is behind bars after officers found more than 350 grams of marijuana in his vehicle.
An Osage Beach man is behind bars after officers found more than 350 grams of marijuana in his vehicle. On Friday evening, a white 2013 Chevy Cruze was seen in the area of Nichols and Dude Ranch traveling in excess of the posted 30 mph speed limit. The driver also failed to stop at the stop sign on Nichols Road. The driver, Shaun M. Peters, 20, of Osage Beach, was stopped in the area of the Image Center.
As Officer Sam Ford was speaking with the driver, a strong odor of Marijuana was detected. Officer Ford called upon his K-9 Partner, Axel, to conduct an exterior search of the vehicle. Axel gave a positive alert to the presence of illegal drugs in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed that Peters had hidden over 372 grams of packaged marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Peters was charged with possession with intent to distribute, failure to stop at a stop sign, speeding, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and possession, transport, sale of illegal weapon.
Bond was set at $10,000 and $30,000 surety.
