  • The Lake Area Missouri Re-entry Process Association will host a free lake area-wide Resource Connections event from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach.
Community agencies and resource organizations from six counties that include; Camden, Miller, Morgan, Laclede, Hickory, and Benton will be represented in an effort to create awareness and educate the community about the services they provide and how to connect with them. Each resource organization will have representatives available to answer questions.
This event is open to anyone who is interested in what resources are available to help those who are in need in our community including; professionals, clubs, the media, teachers, pastors, church members, community members, employers and law enforcement.
This is an excellent opportunity for resource organizations from across all six counties to network and connect together in order to more intelligently and efficiently meet the needs of every suffering man, woman and child in our area.
There were almost 40 resource groups registered at the beginning of October and more are expected. “We can do 40 times as much good together,” said co-organizer Bob Willis.
This is also a great opportunity to find out where you can fit in to help those who are less fortunate in our community. The number of people in our community that need help is growing fast and their needs are great and diverse.
The organizations that will be represented at the Resource Connection help children, the disabled, the elderly, women, veterans, the homeless, the poor, the hungry, the sick, those recovering from addictions, the abused and those transitioning from prison. There will be representatives from; probation and parole, and organizations promoting health, the outdoors, faith, education, employment and more.
If you are an agency, and you would like to be represented, and you have not signed up, there are still a few free booth spaces left.
For more information about the event, call Judy Crawford at 573 280-1221, Sheryl Adamson at 573 480-2018 or Bob Willis at 573 286-1835.
