The U.S. Marshals Service has joined the hunt for a recently convicted sex offender believed by local police to be dangerous. An alert has also been issued by the Missouri Information Analysis Center.

Timothy Wayne Register, 49, was convicted July 24 for statutory rape and sodomy and two counts of child molestation.
After conviction, Register was released pending sentencing and was fitted with a court-ordered GPS bracelet.
According to the alert, a letter from Register was found Saturday, Oct. 11 stating that he would not return to prison. He was scheduled to be sentenced in Morgan County Circuit Court on Oct. 17.
Register found to have slipped his GPS tracker last weekend, and the device was recovered in Eldon. Register had been living in the Sunrise Beach area.
A no bond capias warrant for Register's arrest, signed by Judge Stan Moore, was issued Monday, Oct. 14 for failure to abide a judge's order.
In addition to Register's mug shot, the Morgan County Sheriff's Office has released pictures of tattoos on Register's arms, back and chest to aid in identification.
He has a slim build, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing approximately 136-145 pounds, according to police. He has short gray and brown hair with a medium brown complexion and blue eyes.
Register has known connection in Cuba, Mo. and Tallahassee, Fla.
The public is being asked for its help in finding Register. The police advise citizens to be cautious and immediately report any possible sightings by calling 573-378-5481.
