Friday, October 18th

Enjoy Octoberfest inside the Wooden Nickel with a free concert beginning at 9 p.m. The band will be Frank Bang and the Secret Stash. No cover charge.   For more information call 660-665-2760

 

October 18-20th

Truman State University Homecoming.   Homecoming Celebration Banquet is Friday evening.Parade downtown along Franklin Street at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning.  A 5K run will begin at 8 a.m. Football game will have kick off at 2:00 p.m.  against  McKendree (IL) For whole schedule and information go to alumni.truman.edu/Homecomingasp or call 660-785-4133.

 

Saturday, October 19th

 The Kirksville Rotary Club invites everyone to attend the 2nd annual Taste of the World at the Kirksville Arts Center at 117 S. Franklin.  There will be a BBQ from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and then beginning at 5 p.m. there will be international food music and entertainment.  Admission is free.  Food and beverages available for purchase.  Call 660-665-3766 for more information.

 

Sunday, October 20th

The Captain Thomas C. Harris Open House will be held from 1 -4 p.m. The historic property is located at 101 E. Burton.  Light refreshments will be served and docents in old fashioned dress will speak about the early Kirksville home and Civil War Captain Harris. $4 entry fee will be  charged to aid in preservation of the property. $1 for children.

 

Tuesday, October 22nd

Looking for work. Attend the NEMO Job Fair at the NEMO Fair grounds 11 am-4 pm.  For more information call 660-665-3766.  The Chamber of Commerce partners with the Career Center to sponsor the job fair twice a year.  Job seekers can meet 35-40 employers and the staff of the Career Center can help with resumes and job skills training.
