  • Tri-County Lodging Association will consider two funding requests when it meets for a regular monthly meeting at 9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, in the Ozark Room at Port Arrowhead in Osage Beach.
    Requests are:
    •Bass Pro Shops crappie Masters Fishing Tournament Saturday, April 12, 2014, headquartered at Captain Ron’s. Expecting 8-10 accommodation facilities needed and 300-plus room nights. Requesting $3,500 for full-page ad in national Crappie Guide magazine, tournament posters and tri-gold piece, radio advertising and live link on crappiemasgters.net.
    •Operating Engineers Local 148 (Ameren power plant employees) Charity Bass Tournament Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014. Expecting 15-25 accommodation facilities being used and 300-350 total room nights. Requesting $6,000 to cover costs of a 63x120 tent, tables and chair rentals for Grand Glaize Beach area. All proceeds to go Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. The tournament was held at Truman Lake in previous years.
    There will be several committee reports, a legislative update and discussion of inquiry numbers which indicate inquiries about the Lake of the Ozarks by print is down 21.9 percent and through the funlake.com website is down 7.1 percent.
    However, lodging tax collections for the two months ending Aug. 31 is up 5.54 percent 5.
