  • After advancing on to the district semifinals for the Class 3 District 10 tournament with a 10-1 win over Versailles on Wednesday night, the Osage Lady Indians faced the Blair Oaks Lady Falcons for the second time this week, only this time, the chance at a district championship game was at stake. The outcome of the game, however, proved to be the exact same as the previous match on Tuesday: a 15-0 shutout in Blair Oaks' favor. Offensively the Lady Indians couldn't get anything going, while a dominant Lady Falcon offense used three errors in the first inning to score five runs. Blair Oaks would go on to score a total of fifteen runs, ending the game with the fifteen-run mercy rule taking effect. The Eldon Lady Mustangs took the field next, and after a scoreless first three innings, Becca Lasson drove the ball over the fence for a home run in the bottom of the fourth, giving the Lady Mustangs a 2-0 lead. That lead didn't last long, as their opponent, Southern Boone, answered with a home run of their to tie the game one inning later. Southern Boone would capitalize on errors by the Eldon defense to take the lead, and went on to score another three runs late in the game to win it all 5-2. Blair Oaks will face Southern Boone on Saturday for the district championship at noon.
