Project Healthy Living sponsored its 4th annual Parent/Teen Info/Expo before the Camdenton home football game Sept. 6 and before the Eldon home game against School of the Osage Oct. 4. Students and adults visited booths dedicated to providing information to help youth thrive. Ten booths were present including the Highway Patrol with its seat belt convincer, Compass Prevention with drug and alcohol information, Lake Regional Hospital with nutrition information, Missouri Department of Health with smoking and other health information and others. One lucky person visiting the booths at each game had their name drawn to win a laptop computer. Project Healthy Living is a local, volunteer nonprofit that strives to come up with projects to improve the health and well being of lake area residents. Meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, 9 a.m. at the main Central Bank meeting room, located in front of Hy-Vee. The group is always open to new ideas and welcoming new people.
