Enjoyed spending time with his wife and dogs
Raymond Gene Merriott, age 56, of Stover, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013, in Sunrise Beach. He was born September 29, 1957, in Versailles, the son of the late Claude and Rena (Caruthers) Merriott.
On March 17, 1983, in Kansas City, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Nancy Tree, who survives the home.
Raymond was currently working for Scholastic in Jefferson City. Previously, he worked for Air Brake Specialty in Gravois Mills for several years. As a side job, Raymond mowed many lawns in the lake area. When he wasn’t working, he loved spending time with Nancy and his dogs.
In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his sisters, Inez Couch and husband Phil of Independence, Missouri, Carol DiCarro of Springfield, Missouri and Kathlene Points and husband Dwayne of Gravois Mills, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 11th, at the Kidwell-Garber Laurie/Sunrise Beach Chapel with David Kenyon officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Entombment will be held in the Garber Memorial Estates Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to S.T.A.F.F. Animal Rescue or to the charity of the donor’s choice. Expressions of sympathy may be left online at www.kidwellgarber.com.
