David Randall Tenley, age 65, of Lake Ozark, Missouri passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at his home in Lake Ozark.

David was born March 11, 1948 in Morrison, Illinois to Randall and Helen Tenley.  David joined the military straight out of high school in 1967 and fought in the Vietnam War. 

He was married to Janet Ouart on July 29, 1972.   David retired from the United States Air Force and attended Carl Sandburg College.  Later, he retired from Illinois State Corrections Department.

In 2002, David and his wife moved to Lake Ozark, Missouri. After moving to the lake, Lieutenant David Tenley was a respected leader and served as a volunteer fireman for the Lake Ozark Fire Department.

David attended Our Faith Family Church.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Randall and Helen Tenley as well as his sister, Mary Ellen Decker.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Tenley; two sons, David Randall Tenley II and his wife, Andrea Tenley of Galesburg Illinois and Christopher Lowell Tenley and his fiancée Kimberly Murray of Chester, Virginia; one, step-grandson Jordan Kreps; his Aunt Bernadine Tenley; and numerous nephews.   

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 6, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at Hedges-Scott Funeral Home in Osage Beach, Missouri.

Interment with full Military Honors will be held Monday, October 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Higginsville, Missouri.

Memorial donations are suggested to either Lake Ozark Fire Benevolence Fund, Dogwood Animal Shelter or Our Faith Family Church
